You mentioned you wanted me to send something for a record, so I hope I'm
giving you the correct amount of detail for your purposes.
After I last spoke to you in early January, we ordered three U.S. flags from Rose City Awning and
Flag, which is located at 1 638 NW Overton Street in Portland, Oregon. These flags are for
display at the summit of Skinner Butte and will replace those damaged by wind and weather or
those beyond repair. Detailed costs are:
Two U.S. flags 15' x 25' $642.26 each total $1 ,284.52
One U.S. flag 10' x 19' $406.20
Total purchase price $ 1,690.72
To cover this expense, we used $1 ,682.60 from the remaining grant monies you had previously
supplied and POS paid the remaining $8.12 from our operating budget.
We anticipate the following need for funding to cover expenditures for the remainder of 2011,
for. 2012 and 2013:
One U.S. flag
10'
x 19'
end of 2011
cost $406.20
One U.S. flag -
15'x
25'
in 2012
cost $642.26
One U.S. flag
10'
x 1.9'
in 2012
cost $406.20
One U.S. flag
15'x
25'
in 2013
cost $642.26
One U.S. flag
10'
x 19'
in 2013
_ cost $406.26
Total anticipated costs for future flag replacement through 2013 is $2,503.12 and we therefore
request grant funds in the amount of $2,500.00 for this community need.
Please let me know if you need additional information or if we need to submit the grant request
through the Oregon Community Foundation as we have in the past.
Sincerely,
Johnny R Medlin
Parks and Open Space Director
cc Richard Zucker
