•
MEMORANDUM
Date: June 29, 2009
From: Debbie Wydra, Financial Reporting
Subject: Grant Account Coding
•
To: Lauri Holts - POS, Lacey Risdal - POS, Tammy Smith - PWA
Three fields can be created to manage a grant. The revenue account is required to specifically
identify the proceeds received from the grantor. The grant number is needed to account for
expenditures chargeable against the grant. An activity number may also be assigned, when the
grant requires matching funds, or when project costs will include costs not chargeable to the
grant. All project costs would be identified by the activity number, but only recoverable grant
expenditures would also be identified by grant number.
I have assigned the following distribution codes for the NOAA Delta Ponds ARRA.
Grant Description: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding from NOAA
(National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) was received with a timeline of
811/2009 to 7/31/2011. The NOAA funding will allow the completion of a large multi year
project at Delta Ponds that will provide important off-channel winter habitat for juvenile
Chinook salmon in the upper Willamette River. Twenty acres of riparian and emergent
wetland habitat will be created or enhanced, and hydrological connectivity will be
improved through the excavation of channels between ponds. This project will create or
retain 58 jobs in Lane County Oregon.
In the following distribution code examples, X=variable numbers, 0=required Zero.
Grant (task order) amounts are $1,642,302.
Revenue Account: 43669 NOAA Delta Ponds ARRA
(Distribution code 43669-XXX-XXXX-000000-000)
Grant Number: 669 NOAA Delta Ponds ARRA
(Distribution. code XXXXX-XXX-XXXX-XXXXXX-669)
Please send me a copy of the signed grant agreement for an audit trail and to comply with
external audit demands.
The distribution codes will be activated for FY2010.
