Both of the areas in question are currently hand watered in <br />~~1~~~~~s~-~~s~ <br />dry months which is highly inefficient from both a staff time and water use ~.~~~~~~-o~.~o~/~~~~s standpoint. <br />The Owen Rose Garden is largely irrigated, with the exception of a .fi3 acre <br />area south of the existing gazebo which includes both lawn and shrub beds.. . <br />The area includes approximately 13,495 square feet of shrub and 9,880 <br />square feet of lawn. The contractorwill design a system to expand upon the <br />existing system using spare zones on the existing controller to provide a <br />complete automatic irrigation system forthe remainderof the garden. <br />The Native Plant Garden in Hendricks Park is approximately 2.2 acres and is <br />un-irrigated. However the garden includes 63 large trees and shrubs that <br />~~~~~~~~~a~~~~ required supplemental water each summer to survive. The contractor will <br />use existing valves and an existingcapped mainline in the areato design and <br />construct a targeted drip irrigation system to these 63 trees and shrubs. <br />. i <br />The contractor is Elms Landscape Services and the contract amount is '~E <br />$29, 987.04.
