During the first round, Public Works crews collected more than 11,700 cubic yards of leaves. Leaf volumes are generally lighter during the second round of collections, which allows crews to do pickups on unimproved streets. Here’s the second-round schedule (all dates are subject to change based primarily on weather conditions because the same crews that pick up leaves respond to winter storms and snow and ice emergencies):  West/Central Eugene – December 23-29  North Eugene – December 27-Jan 6  Southeast Eugene – January 5-12  Southwest Eugene – January 10-14 Residents are reminded that they should not put leaves in bike lanes. If your property is next to an on-street bike lane, call the Public Works Maintenance Division at 541-682-4800 to discuss options for leaf disposal. Other leaf collection tips:  Place leaves in the street a few days before collection is scheduled in your neighborhood, keeping in mind that crews could come by on any of the days in the published schedule.  Leave at least 15 feet between leaf piles and parked cars.  Don’t place leaves or any other debris in the street after the second pickup has been completed in your neighborhood.
