® E U G E N E
PAS and
Open Space
a division of Public Works
1820 Roosevelt Blvd.
Eugene, Oregon 97402
Memorandum
Date: September 19, 2005
To: Kurt Corey
CC: Johnny Medlin and Sarah Medary "A•\
From: Eric Wold .
 p
(541) 682 -4800
(541) 682 -4882 Fax
www.deugene.or.us /parks
Subject: Signing an MOU with TNC and BLM for the West Eugene Wetlands Plant Materials Program
Over the past decade, the City of Eugene has funded and planned most of the native plant materials collection
and procurement for projects in the West Eugene Wetlands. Most of this work was funded by the wetlands
mitigation bank, or through specific City capital projects like the Lower Amazon 1135 Project.
In the near future, however, both TNC and BLM will have a much greater need for native seeds and other
plant materials. In recognition of our mutual interest in working together to implement a plant procurement
strategy in the future, staff from the City, TNC, and BLM created an MOU to shape a new era of cooperation
and collaboration around native plant materials.
The MOU is significant in that all three organizations agree to jointly plan, coordinate, implement, and fund
the plant procurement program.
Please sign the attached copies of the contract and then return them to Kris Aanderud (x4699).
