y
"I am on temporary assignment to an or program so Cela Weiss will be your malontact. I did not get to my emails
until after 5 p.m. today and so 1 may have already missed you!
But to answer some of the questions, we could certainly do another amendment to cover the $6,000 but more importantly,
we need the invoice to process all of the work by the end of this week! We had available fulnd5 from FY07, which we were
using to pay the youth for work done prior to year end. Is there someone from the County la1' can assist with these before
your return that has received this cc notice?
As for increasing the rates, I believe that there is or will be an amendment to continue using the youth in your program and
the changes in the rates should be reflected in the amendment to extend. Again, Cela or John would, be your best contact
for this info.
Thanks. I'm not clear on how to handle the
compensation issue for this past year, which ended June 30th, 2007. Matt said that our crews worked beyond the $59,000
as set in the contract... that it will be closer to $65,000 and that this was approved by you and John. Should that additional
amount ($6,000) be put in the contract or is it going to be handled outside of the contract? Here is the draft I came up with
that needs the correct amount to be chosen.
Also, I have increased the rates paid for youth and staff. The youth rates were at $7.50. Minimum wage has gone up to
$7.80 per hour and this contract reflects that amount. I increased staff costs from $27 to $30 per hour so that they are
closer to our actual costs for staff. This decreases the total amount of days worked by about 7 per year (depending upon
how many youth work.)
Please look over the contract and let me know if it is acceptable and how to handle the additional funding from last fiscal
year. I will be out of the office starting this afternoon and returning on Tuesday, July 17th. Hopefully, we can agree on the
contract on Tuesday and I will process it through the County and forward it to you for signature. We very much enjoy our
work with the City! Thanks for your great partnership!
THANKS
Lynne Schroeder
Assistant Director
Lane County Youth Services
541/682 -4747
<< File: City of Eugene AMENDMENT NO2. 07- 08.draft#3.doc >>
