Eight of these locations will require a new concrete slab for
installation. In years past, we would have done these small projects in -house but
we do not have the staff or resources to accommodate that this year. As such, I
sent a request out to local contractors for an estimate to do this work. They came
in extremely high, due to the amount of work they are dealing with right now and
high mobilization costs given the distant and occasionally remote locations of the
pads. Fortunately, we already have a good working relationship with Les Brock
who is pouring the concrete pads for our new park entry signs and he was willing
to offer us a reasonable bid.
Of the three contractors that even considered taking the project on (many declined
to bid) here were the prices:
2G Construction - $2,120 per
Dorman Construction - $1,991 per
Les Brock Construction - $1,000 per
Purchasing has approved this PO and the general donation account has funding
to cover the $8,000 expense.
