Traffic will be reduced to one lane, <br />controlled by flaggers, between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. until the repairs are finished. Plans call for <br />work in the southbound lane on Tuesday, switching to the northbound lane on Wednesday, <br />weather permitting. <br />The work includes sweeping the street surface, applying a thin coat of a sticky sealant <br />and then applying a two-inch-thick layer of new asphalt. This type of work requires dry <br />pavement. Intersections and driveways, including access to the Red Cross, will be blocked <br />briefly while paving is occurring directly in front of those locations. <br />This repair work is funded through Eugene’s road fund, which comes primarily from the <br />city’s share of state gas taxes.
