Working on a weed <br />monitoring project along Amazon Creek for the City of Eugene, results to be submitted upon completion, <br />April -July 2010 <br />• Took on Lane Community College intern who is lead surveyor for endangered plant species monitoring at <br />a site owned by The Nature Conservancy; will be trained on writing up results for submission to Partners. <br />Intern will be trained to identify and record previously collected WEW macroinvertebrate samples and <br />perform other duties as needed, June- September 2010 <br />• Trained high school teacher and students on macroinvertebrate sampling technique and identification, <br />February 2010 <br />• Started macroinvertebrate data collection for annual monitoring of restored and newly created seasonal <br />wetlands, trained and worked with 9 different volunteers, February -June 2010 <br />• Co- teaching bird monitoring techniques class with Dave Bontrager, retired USFWS biologist on WEW site <br />where student Citizen Scientists learn various bird monitoring techniques and collect data on breeding <br />birds; results will be compiled and written up by Dave Bontrager, June 2010 - August 2010 <br />• Recruited volunteers for rare, threatened or endangered plant surveys and led training workshop on June <br />9, 2010; Stephanie McKnight, botanist with ACOE and Tania Siemens of TNC, EDRR program both <br />participated.
