GAC is responsible for recommending APWA's public policy goals, <br />priorities and strategies to the Board of Directors and for overseeing the implementation of APWA's policy <br />advocacy initiatives and external relations. Committee members also play an important role representing the <br />association as member advocates. <br />GAC meets twice during the year. The next meeting will be held Monday. August 16, 2010 from 2.00 pm to <br />5.00 pm during the 2010 APWA International Public Works Congress and Exposition in Boston. MA If you <br />accept the appointment. it would be ideal for you to plan on attending the APWA Congress and Exposition. <br />A second meeting of the committee is planned for spring 2011 in Washington, DC. The committee may also <br />meet a couple times by conference call during the year. <br />Please fax the enclosed response form to Mary Hunt at APWA by June 11, 2010, indicating your <br />willingness to serve. If you wish, we can send a thank you letter to your employer for allowing you the <br />time and opportunity to serve on this voluntary committee.
