<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />February 11, 2010 <br /> <br />CONTACT: <br />John Bonham, Project Manager, 541-682-5300 <br /> <br />From Public Information Section, 541-682-5523 or 541-954-2938 <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> <br /> <br />Traffic Advisory <br />Traffic Signal Work on Broadway and Mill Street Will Affect Nighttime Traffic <br /> <br />Traffic signal work will affect nighttime traffic in the area of the new federal courthouse <br />for several days next week. <br />On Monday, February 15, crews working under contract for Eugene Public Works will <br />replace a signal mast arm at the intersection of Broadway and Hilyard Street. The signal is <br />scheduled to be shut off at 9 p.m., and flaggers will control the intersection until the work is <br />completed. The work is scheduled to be completed by 6 a.m. Tuesday. <br />On Wednesday, February 19, the work will shift to the intersection of Eighth Avenue and <br />Mill Street, where two signal mast arms will be replaced. When the signal is shut off at 8 p.m., <br />flaggers will control north- and southbound traffic on Mill Street, and no through traffic will be <br />allowed on Eighth Avenue. <br />The intersection of Eighth and Mill will be reopened by 6 a.m. Thursday and will be <br />under construction again on Thursday night beginning at 8 p.m. All work in the area is <br />scheduled be completed by 6 a.m. Friday. <br />While construction activities are occurring at these intersections, drivers should pay <br />special attention to lane closures, alternate routes, flaggers and equipment in the roadway. <br />For updates on these and other road projects in Eugene, visit the traffic relief web site at <br />www.eugene-or.gov/traffic or on Twitter at www.Twitter.com/EugenePW. <br /># # # <br /> <br />Public Works Administration ?
