<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />February 8, 2010 <br /> <br /> <br />CONTACT: <br />Damon Joyner, Surface Maintenance Supervisor, 541-682-4835 <br /> <br />From Public Information Section, 541-682-5523 or 541-954-2938 <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />th <br />Concrete Repairs Close Northbound Lane of Jefferson Street At 15 Avenue <br /> <br />th <br />Jefferson Street will be closed to northbound traffic at 15 Avenue for approximately one <br />week for concrete panel replacement. <br />thth <br />The northbound section of Jefferson Street between 15 and 13 avenues is scheduled <br />to be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 10, weather permitting, and to remain closed until <br />approximately Feb. 17. During the closure, northbound traffic on Jefferson will be detoured to <br />thth <br />eastbound 15 Avenue, which connects to 13 Avenue via Washington, Lawrence and Lincoln <br />streets. <br />Eugene has approximately 30 miles of concrete streets in its 530-mile street system. <br />Each year, the Eugene Public Works Maintenance Division schedules repairs based on a <br />variety of factors, including amount of damage, use of the street, and availability of funds. <br />Typically, the repair work includes removing the old pavement, making minor subsurface repairs <br />if needed, pouring new concrete, and keeping traffic off the new surface until the concrete has <br />thoroughly cured, usually about a week. <br />For up-to-date information on these and other local road projects, visit www.eugene- <br />or.gov/traffic, or on Twitter at www.twitter.com/EugenePW. <br /># # # <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Public Works Administration ?
