Public Works
Engineering
City of Eugene
99 E. Broadway, Suite 400
Eugene, Oregon 97401
(541) 682-5291
(541) 682-8410 FAX
Memorandum
Date: October 26, 2009
To: File #3984
From: Terry Colvin (project Manager)
Subject: Request for additional funding for follow up items.
I request an additional $5,000 be drawn from 531 Storm water Rehab general categories
(985026) and placed in Polk St. Outfall Water Quality Project #3984 for the purpose of

performing some adaptive management to best fine tune the maintenance and efficiencies of this

water quality structure. Operational needs include two electrical drills used for raising and
lowering manual slide gates. These tools were not supplied as part of the CIP contract as we

wanted to wait and determine what the best tool would be for our crews. This will allow quick
response for spills and reduce hours spent in maintaining and cleaning the vault. Funds will also
include completion of the operations manual and installation of water level gauges inside the
vault to help monitor and evaluate the vaults as well as set up a monitoring protocol for
evaluating volumes and types of pollutants captured.
~~,oaG ~3,5G
