Page 65 of 93 <br /> CORE MPO ACTIVITIES: Intergovernmental Coordination <br /> Tasks <br /> ¦ Conduct, facilitate and support the Metropolitan Policy Committee, the <br /> Transportation Policy. Committee (TPC) and Technical Advisory <br /> Subcommittee (TASC), including: <br /> o Producing and distributing meeting packets; <br /> o Ensuring adequate notice of meetings; <br /> o Recording and distributing meeting minutes and other meeting <br /> records; and <br /> o Arranging meeting logistics. <br /> ¦ Manage the ongoing operations of the MPO, including staffing, personnel, <br /> financing, and general organizational administration. <br /> ¦ Coordinate local planning activities to prevent duplication and ensure <br /> efficiency and connectivity in transportation system development. <br /> ¦ Provide documentation of MPO activities, including monthly billing <br /> reports and quarterly reports to state and federal agencies as required. <br /> ¦ Perform administrative functions required for the federal 3-C process to <br /> ensure continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation planning <br /> throughout the MPO area. <br /> Coordinate transportation and transportation options planning activities <br /> affecting the metropolitan area with local, state and federal activities. <br /> ¦ Continue to attend state level meetings related to TPR implementation, <br /> ODOT Transportation Demand Management Program, and <br /> implementation of SAFETEA-LU. <br /> ¦ Promote regional perspective and continue coordination and cooperation <br /> through staffing of MPO committees including: <br /> o Preparation of agendas and meeting materials; <br /> o Support for MPC, TPC and TASC, managing public involvement <br /> opportunities, and posting meeting materials on the web. <br /> ¦ Prepare and administer/manage contracts, including ODOT contract <br /> coordination and billing reports. Coordinate with MPO partners on <br /> contracting for planning tasks funded by STP-U. <br /> ¦ Attend conferences and workshops specific to transportation planning. <br /> ¦ Participate in state-wide quarterly MPO meetings and quarterly Oregon <br /> MPO Consortium meetings. Contribute to research, analysis, and <br /> advocacy of MPO-related issues of statewide significance. <br /> ¦ Participate in freight movement groups including the state-wide Oregon <br /> Freight Advisory Committee and the West Coast Corridor Coalition. <br /> Products <br /> ?
