Project Cooperation Agreement (Amendment No. 1, September 21, 2001, enclosure 2) between <br /> the Department of the Army and the City of Eugene, Oregon, for Modification of Amazon Creek <br /> Flood Control Channel, Amazon Creek Wetlands Restoration <br /> Requesting Agency: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District <br /> Servicing Agency: City of Eugene, Oregon <br /> Description of Services: Under this task order the City of Eugene will provide the staff, facilities, <br /> supplies and equipment needed to salvage, propagate and establish native wetland and upland <br /> seeds and plant materials needed for the Amazon Creek Wetlands Restoration Project. Under this <br /> Task Order, the city may also provide labor and equipment crews needed to assist in removal and <br /> i~ control ofnon-native weedy species from the restoration project area. <br /> i <br /> This Task Order covers work to be completed in Federal Fiscal Year (FY) 2003. <br /> ~I <br /> Tasks and Activities: <br /> The Corps of Engineers Will: <br /> 1. Continue to provide management and funds for completion of the Project's Phase II, which <br /> involves a series of management prescriptions designed to restore small-scale surface hydrology, <br /> <br /> ' remove non-native species, and to plant and treat native plants with the goal of restoring a native <br /> Willamette Valley wet prairie wetland ecosystem. Phase II prescriptions will include filling and <br /> restoring small drainage channels, fill removal, removal of reed canary grass and other invasive <br /> species, mowing, burning, plowing and scraping. Corps staff will coordinate and schedule <br /> planting and seeding activities with City of Eugene and BLM staff. <br /> 2. In coordination with the City of Eugene, write and fund a separate contract for planting and <br /> seeding native plant materials not provided by the City of Eugene as described below. <br /> 3. In coordination with the City of Eugene, write and fund a separate contract for removal and <br /> control ofnon-native weedy plant materials not provided by the City of Eugene as described <br /> below. <br /> 1 <br /> <br />
