Tree removal permit conditions typically include a requirement to replace the removed tree <br />with a tree of similar value or to pay the City the value of the tree removed. See EC 6.3 OS (3). <br />Damage to Public Drywells - If a drywell is damaged, the Inspector shall be notified <br />immediately. Any damage to the drywell must be inspected by the Inspector. The Inspector <br />will consult with the Engineering Division regarding appropriate repairs. The Inspector, <br />under the direction of Engineering personnel shall have the option of providing repair <br />consultation to the permittee responsible for the damage or having the repair performed by <br />City crews or a contractor under contract for the City at the expense of the permittee <br />responsible for the damage. <br />Damage to or Displacement of Existing Slope or Bank Soils - Ifthe penmittee's activities <br />or facilities either directly or indirectly cause any displacement of slope or bank soils, the <br />Inspector shall be notified immediately. The Inspector, under the direction of Engineering <br />personnel shall have the option of providing repair consultation to the permittee responsible <br />for the damage or having the repair performed by City crews or a contractor under contract <br />for the City at the expense of the pernuttee responsible for the damage. <br />Section 4: MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITIES. <br />4.A GENERAL. <br />Patches or excavations within the public way in need of maintenance shall be reported to the <br />Inspector. In most cases, a utility cut requires maintenance or repair if any part of the replacement <br />surfacing deviates more than 3/a inch from the fmished surface street grade or % inch from a finished <br />sidewalk grade. <br />If, upon reasonable notice, the permittee fails to restore and maintain the public way affected by the <br />permittee's work, the City may perform the work and charge the cost to the permittee. If, in the <br />judgment of the Traffic Technical Team Supervisor, a hazardous or dangerous condition exists that <br />affects the public health, safety and welfare, the notification requirement may be waived and the City <br />may take necessary corrective action to remove the hazardous conditions and charge the costs thereof <br />to the responsible party without prior notification.
