with a pressurized sprayer and shall completely overlap the exiting and new paving to ensure <br />a complete seal of the joint. <br />3.C INSPECTION. <br />Work under the permit is subj ect to City inspection before, during, and after completion of the work. <br />A copy of the approved permit and plans or drawings must be on the work site at all times. <br />The Inspector shall be responsible for inspection of work performed under standard public way use <br />permits, right-of--way work or cut permits, and annual permits for work within the public way. Upon <br />request by the Engineering Division, the Inspector may also inspect other work performed in the <br />public way under a revocable permit or a public improvement permit. <br />Upon receiving the notice of commencement for the proposed work, the Inspector will endeavor to <br />meet with the contractor's representative in charge of the construction at or before the commence- <br />ment of the work covered by the permit. At this time, the methods and planned sequence of the <br />operations should be discussed, unanswered questions resolved, and agreement obtained on <br />preexisting damage to facilities akeady in place. <br />The Inspector will periodically monitor operations performed by the contractor to see that work is <br />performed according to the permit conditions. The work must strictly conform to the approved <br />plans. Any changes in the proposed facility from that shown on the approved permit must have the <br />prior consent of the Inspector. If a field change is approved by the Inspector, the permittee shall <br />submit modified permit drawings which document the change. The Inspector may require the <br />permittee to apply for a new permit if the requested change cannot be resolved by a field decision. <br />The Inspector may require changes in construction technique or workmanship if hazardous <br />conditions are present and may halt construction if it does not conform to the approved permit and <br />plans or drawings. <br />3.D PROTECTIVE MEASURES AND ROUTING OF TRAFFIC. <br />The permittee shall comply with all City traffic control standards including latest editions of Part VI <br />of the Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), the Oregon Department of <br />Transportation's Short Term Traffic Control Handbook and the City of Eugene Work Zone Traffic <br />Control Standards Supplement, and as specified in Section 202 of the Standard Specifications. <br />NOTE: Bicycle lanes and sidewalks are considered legal travel lanes herein and must be <br />accommodated as such. <br />Utility & R/W Permit Manual <br />Exhibit A - 34 <br />C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\OLKB202\03rowrlexa.wpd -Manual (03ROWR~1).WPD(11/07/03) <br />
