For February 18, 1994 Newsletter
Tree Preservation Ordinance Temporary Administrative Rules to become Permanent
A znistrative Rules.
Last October, 180 day temporary administrative rules were adopted to aide
staff in administering the changes. in the Tree Preservation Ordinance enacted
by the City Council. These rules were adopted as temporary rules to_give time
for staff to gain experience-with issues or changes which might need to be
incorporated in the final rules. `Since these temporary rules will expire in-
early April, staff will soon prepare for posting and publication an
administrative order to make these rules permanent.
Staff feel the experience gained in use of the administrative rules has been
very good with little change needing to be made. The only recommended
modification being. added is-language"which restricts roads from being-built
anr1 restricts non-rubber tired vehicles .from being used in the logging....
operations unless the'applicant_can demonstrate to the satisfaction of
the City that wooded areas along ridgelines and hilltops would be retained for
their scenic and wildlife habitat values, and wooded areas along property
lines would be retained to. provide buffers. from adjacent properties.." For
more information please contact Johnny Medlin at 687-5220.
E
