To derive the local wastewater SDC rate per EDU, divide. the non-assessable costs by the
system capacity EDUs. To derive the local wastewater SDC charge per PFU, divide the local
wastewater SDC rate per EDU by 16. To derive the local wastewater SDC rate based on
historic consumption, divide the local wastewater SDC rate per EDU by 6. The Wastewater
SDC rates per EDU, PFU, and historic consumption, can be found in Appendix G in the current
adopted SDC fee schedule. For more detailed and specific numerical data on EDU and PFU
calculations, see Table 4. For formula illustrations, see Figure 4 in this Appendix.
1.1.1 .Local Wastewater SDC Rates For New Development outside River
RoadlSanta ClaralHighway 99 Area
1.1.1.1 Local Wastewater SDC For New Single Family Dwellings >~
Duplex Development
For all new single family dwellings the local wastewater SDC collected is
equal to the rate for one 'EDU. For all new duplex development, the local
wastewater SDC collected is equal to two times the rate for one EDU.
1.1.1.2 Local Wastewater SDC For All Other New Development
For all other new development the local wastewater SDC collected is based
on the rate per plumbing fixture unit (PFU) multiplied by the number of
plumbing fixture units in the proposed development.
1.1.2 Local Wastewater SDC Rates For Existing Development outside River
Road\Santa ClaralHighway 99 Area
1.1.2.1 Locat Wastewater SDC Far Existing Single Family Dwellings
(SFD) ~ Duplex Development
For existing SFD development the local wastewater SDC collected is equal to
the rate for one EDU. For an existing duplex development, the local
wastewater SDC collected is equal to two times the rate for one EDU.
1.1.2.2 Local Wastewater SDC For All Other Existing Development
For administrative convenience, rather than verifying by physical inspection
the number of plumbing fixture units in an existing development that is
connecting to the wastewater system for the first time, the local wastewater
SDC collected is based on the average historic winter water consumption for
the existing development. The existing development's historic consumption
is calculated by averaging the actual winter water consumption, in gallons, for
the preceding .months of December through April, dividing the resulting
number by 1,000, and multiplying by the rate for historic consumption. The
rate for historic consumption (per 1,000 gallons) is based on an assumed
typical single-family .dwelling average winter water consumption of 6,000
gallons per month.
May 1, 1997.
