Tree Establishment: <br />The fee for trees shall be calculated as follows: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />> •~ <br />a) Measure the total length of lots within or abutting the street right of way in the area <br />being developed. <br />b) Subtract 15 feet for each leg of the vision clearance zone of each intersection <br />included within the development. <br />c) Subtract 30 feet for each residential lot or 80 feet for each commercial or industrial <br />lot within the development (representing future driveways). <br />d) Divide by 30. <br />e) Multiply by 1.10 (representing the 10% anticipated tree mortality). <br />f) Multiply by $300 for local streets or $400 for collector or arterial streets. <br />The fee is equal to the cost of purchase, installation, and establishment of the street trees required[ <br />by the approved Street Tree Plan. The City will track lot development, <br />negotiate species with new home owners, plant the new trees, and ensure they become established. <br />The City will be responsible for replacement of any trees that fail to survive the establishment period. <br />*~~*~ <br />Revision of the above fees is necessary in order to comply with directives of the City Council <br />that the cost of providing Ciiy services be recovered from the user or beneficiaries of such services; <br />and it is in the public interest and essential that these fees be established and implemented as-soon <br />as possible. <br />Persons desiring to comment hereon shall submit written comments to the Urban Forester, <br />1820 Roosevelt Blvd., Eugene, Oregon 97402 within 30 days from the date of posting and <br />publication as indicated below.
