NOTICE OF INTENDED INCREASE IN WASTEWATER SERVICE CHARGES <br />To: The Mayor and City Councilors of the City of Eugene, and other interested persons. <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuantto the provisions ofSection 6.411 ofthe Eugene Code,1971, Administrative <br />Order No. 58-96-10-F was issued by the City Manager of the City of Eugene on May 6, 1996, establishing monthly sewer user <br />fees effective July 1, 1996 and Administrative Order No. 58-99-20-F was issued by the City Manager of the City of Eugene on <br />November 10, 1999, establishing amended monthly septage user fees effective November 1, 1999. <br />The City Manager has investigated the City's current revenue needs and cost of operation of the City's wastewater <br />service system and reviewed the recommendation of the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission (MWMC) staff, <br />and has proposed to increase the user fees for wastewater service, and regional wastewater treatment service as hereinafter <br />set forth. The proposed increases are necessary in order to comply with the Council's directive that the costs of providing such <br />services be recovered from the beneficiaries of the services, and other applicable policies and directives of the City Council; <br />are consistent applicable federal and state regulations and the recommendations of MWMC; comparable to the amounts <br />charged by the City of Springfield and other such service providers; preserve the equity between different classes of ratepayers; <br />and are based on the proposed budgets of the City and MWMC.
