22 <br />University Station (Station 13) <br />1695 Agate Street <br />Constructed: 1945 (remodeled 1996) <br />Engine company, brush engine <br />South Hills Station (Station 15) <br />80 E. 33`d Avenue <br />Constructed: 1953 (remodeled 1989,1998) <br />Engine company, brush engine <br />Fire Stations 3, 4, 5,14, and 16 are located in Springfield. <br />~'ecial peiv°ations <br />Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) -This cadre of specially trained firefighters pro- <br />vides Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting services to citizens using the Eugene Airport, including <br />private and corporate aircraft and commercial/passenger air carriers. The City's Fire Statiori 12 <br />is on the grounds of Eugene Airport / Mahlon Sweet Field, providing the same level of first re- <br />sponse fire, res- <br />cue, and emer- <br />gencymedical <br />services enjoyed <br />by the city <br />proper in addi- <br />tion to their <br />ARFF specialty, <br />Specialized <br />ARFF apparatus <br />and equipment <br />enhance this re- <br />sponse capabil- <br />ity. <br />ARFF personnel must annually recerti fy their aircraft firefighting skills and training as required <br />by the FAA. This FAA-required training includes actual live fire exercises and rescue practice. <br />in addition to annual recertification training required by the Oregon State Department of Public <br />Safety Standards and Training (DI~SST}. ftcgularly scheduled tabletop and full-scale disaster <br />exercises,~as well as response time tests, ensure that ARFF personnel are prepared for any po- <br />tential emergency response. <br />i <br />Technical Rescue Team --The `l"echr~iG~tl Resc~-e Team exists to provide specia~lizedl techni- <br />calsearch and rescue services to the citizens of Eugene and Oregon's southern region. This <br />service encompasses five specific disciplines. rope rescue (high- and low-angle), confined <br />space rescue, trenchlexcavationreseue, tecltnioal~vehicle and machinery rescue, and structure/ <br />collapselurban search and rescue. Tltuse services are provided by an on-duty cadre of 6 per- <br />sonnelper shift, for a total of l ~) personnel (including TRT Supervisor). <br />Team members are part oi'the C~rcgon St~tCe Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Task Force. <br />As partof the Southern Oregon regional te~u~~, we respond in partnership with Springfield, <br />Salem, Albany, and Corvallis TILT pc~°sorutel Co natural and human-caused disasters as di- <br />rected bythe.
