<br />_ Nonstop service to top destinations
<br />Air travelers drive to competing airports to access air service for many reasons, one of which is service
<br />-~ availability. Table 4.4 provides perspective on the level of air service offered at Eugene Airport and
<br />y Portland International Airport for the top 25 destinations identified in this survey.
<br />_! Eugene Airport offered nonstop service to seven of the top 25 catchment area destinations: Los Angeles,
<br />Las Vegas, San Francisco, Phoenix, Denver, Salt Lake City, and Seattle. Portland International Airport
<br />-~ had nonstop service to 21 of the catchment area's top 25 destinations and nonstop service to 48 total
<br />airports. Portland International Airport offered 63 nonstop flights per week to the number one destination,
<br />~ Los Angeles. Nonstop flight offerings may be a factor limiting Eugene Airport's retention in the Chicago
<br />-.j O'Hare, Atlanta, Dallas, Minneapolis, Ontario, and San Jose markets. Significant Portland service exists
<br />in these markets, and Eugene Airport's retention is below its domestic average of 55.4 percent in these
<br />',~ markets.
