Staff has recently reviewed the recommendations of the P1aceMaking Task Farce with
~
I the directors of each market. We also asked them to identify any new issues,
The attached table provides an update on each of the recommendations and, when applicable, offers new
information. The Saturday Market's top priority would be an increase in electrical service capacity,
I Unfortunately, the current electrical panel is now maxed out and while the cost of adding new service has
x not been determined, we know it will be very expensive. The other request from Saturday Market is a
dower priority, They would like to see the removal of some of the permanent benches on the east block,
because they conflict with the use of the space by food vendors.
The Farmers Market primarily operates on the County-owned portions of the Park Blocks that are north of
8~' Avenue. Many of Farmers Market requests have already been addressed. Other requests maybe
resolved later this year in conjunction with the County's redesign of the Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza.
Please contact me at 682-5533 or via email (Richie.d.weinman@ci.eugene.or.us) if you have additional
'' questions or need additional information.
