Property and business owners surrounding tlxe Park Blocks <br />have ayear-round, 366-day, interest in the condition, use, and <br />operation of the Park Blocke. These businesses, properties, and. <br />their ~zsers both benefit fxom the presence of Park Blocks <br />activities and contend with various inconveniences thatarise <br />from those activities. <br />Everyone agreed that Placemaking in the l'ark blacks needed to <br />be about the whole week, as well as about the Saturdayspectacle <br />of the Markets. Everyone agreed that the Markets are tremendous <br />assets to downtown Eugene, but everyone also agreed that the <br />Park Blocks are much more than just a Saturday venue. In this: <br />spirit, the following recommendations axe aimed at making the <br />Park Blocl~s better places all week long. At the same time, the` <br />implementation of each ofthese recommendations should be <br />carefully coordinated with the operational interests mf both the <br />Saturday Market and the Lane County l+armers' Market, <br />~rgani~at~an ~af Recornmend~t~orts <br />The Committee agreed that it could organize its available re- <br />fifl~irCes iota four areas; <br />'~ ~'he operational resources of the City, the County; sued the oai~ <br />going activities of their various departments <br />0~ The energy and Operational resources of the Markets..: <br />.+.
