FACILITIES PLAN ~ T <br />~lC~~~Oo o~~o~: ~ ~~a~~c~~o~c°~~ [~ o ~~ o c°~~~~~ ~o~~o~~oo~ <br />p g <br />Wastewater treatment services are provided to the <br />EugenelSpringfield area by tTie Metropolitan Wastewater <br />Management Commission (MWMC), a cooperative <br />intergovernmental agency formed in 1977. For more than <br />20 years MWMC facilities have provided exceptional <br />treatment and service, protecting water quality in the <br /> <br /> <br />Willamette River and helping to sustain our quality of life. <br />Our community's wastewater facilities need upgrades to <br />support our customers for the next two decades. The MWMC <br />is implementing improvements that will help us meet the <br />standards for water quality protection of the Willamette River, <br />doing so in a fiscally sound and responsible manner. <br />The MWMC's purpose is to protect public health and <br />safety and the environment by providing high quality <br />wastewater management services to the Eugene-Springfield <br />metropolitan area. The MWMC and the regional partners <br />are committed to providing these services in a manner that <br />is effective, efficient and meets customer service expectations. <br />
