Water Property Acquisition -Project No. 15377
This project was recently initiated to identify land acquisitions needed for water facilities (pump
stations, reservoirs and well fields, etc.) over the next five to ten years.
Land Acquisitions for Well Fields
The 1998 Water Supply Plan initiated the use of well fields for back up water supply. Subsequent studies in the
target area confirmed the feasibility of developing the well field. These studies indicate adequate water quantity
and quality to maintain reliable emergency service to our customers. The Board has approved accelerating the
development of these wells, and land needs to be purchased in order to secure water rights and construction
permits.
Land Acquisition for Pump Stations
Properties that EWEB is purchasing to rebuild existing or constructing new pump stations.
Timberline 800 Pump Station
Land Acquisition for Reservoirs
Because reservoir sites are limited to certain elevations in the south hills, land availability is limited. EWEB
needs to purchase reservoir sites for Laurel Hill 850, Shasta 1150, Timberline 800, and Timberline 1150.
Water Property
Acquisitions 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2003-07 2004-12
*Land Acquisition for
--
Future Well Fields $70,700 $100,000 $50,000 $50,000 $270,700
Land Acquisition for
Future Pum Stations $23,000 $30,000 $53,000
Land Acquisition for
Future Reservoirs $95,000 $15,000 $30,000 $60,000 $200,000

Total $188,700 $145,000 $80,000 $110,000 $ 0 $523,700
*Covered through Groundwater Bonds
Water Division -Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan
30
