This is an ideal location for control of the hydraulic characteristics of the system. By closing and opening
valves, water can be moved to azeas of town where it is most needed, not only in terms of quantity, but this
could help control water quality as well.
Engineering
Construction
Piping & Materials
SCADA/Controls
Administration
Total Cost
$ 47,000
$250,000
$100,000
$ 25,000
25 000
$447,000
SDC Funded $ 0
Rate Funded Capital $447,000
College Hill Transmission Connector
The transmission system from the I-5 inter-tie and College Hill reservoir was never completed. With about
2000 feet of transmission size piping missing to College Hill, and the new 42-inch transmission main to
Hawkins, the hydraulics of the system is unbalanced with Hawkins being the easier reservoir to filUempty.
Finishing this line will balance the two reservoirs to work together in unison. This line addition will also
increase the hydraulic capacity of the water system. This project will entail construction of about 2000 feet of
24-inch transmission main.
Engineering $ 50,000
Materials & Construction $500,000
Administration 40000
Total Cost $590,000
Beltline Transmission Improvements
SDC Funded $ 0
Rate Funded Capital $590,000
An additiona136-inch transmission line will be needed to increase.the ability to move water to the northwest of
EWEB's water service area. This transmission line, starting near the I-5 intertie and ending neaz the
Beltline/Delta Highway interchange is about 4 miles in total distance. This will also serve as a dedicated line
for EWEB's groundwater sources to move water faster to the west and back to the I-5 intertie if necessary. This
project may also serve to connect the future wellfield with- Santa Claza.
Water Division -Five-Year Capital /mprovement Plan .
23
