Amidst continued challenges posed by new ! ~ ~ <br /> regulations, increased production and customer service requirements, and newly constructed facilities added to the mix ' <br /> of operational demands, 2004 marked the successful completion of an updated twenty-year Facilities Plan. This Plan, j <br /> prepared under the guidance of MWMC, will pave the way for the most cost-effective mix of wastewater treatment and ~ <br /> conveyance system upgrades to be built over the next several years to meet the community's projected wastewater treatment ' i' <br /> capacity and environmental performance needs through 2025. ~ <br /> <br /> I - ~ <br /> ~ j <br /> Yet, while careful long-term planning was a high profile activity in 2004, the Commission continued to set clear direction W <br /> - <br /> for re Tonal wastewater work lans, bud ets, o erational erformance, and administration throu hits on oin focus <br /> g P g P p g g g ~ - <br /> on achievement of their "key outcomes" which are outlined in this report. <br /> Springfield and Eugene completed more than $9 million in new capital infrastructure, major rehabilitation, and equipment <br /> replacement projects as scheduled to maintain the community's investment in the regional wastewater system and assure <br /> its continued reliability. Projects completed in 2004, such as improvements to the electrical generator engines, the <br /> laboratory and its analytical equipment, and installation of a pipeline to send reclaimed wastewater to the newly completed II <br /> Peter Ruffier, Wastewarte~ Dzz~zszoii Director <br /> Biocycle Farm (phase 1) will contribute to_long-term cost savings and environmental performance improvements. i i ; <br /> Susan Smith, MWMC~G`,erzerrtlMttnager <br /> ~ <br /> At the close of 2004, the Commission and staff are poised and ready to meet future challenges.
