/ j l
~
f, 1
i ,
i'
i
To our community and stakeholders:
For more than 25 years, the Metropolitan Wastewater Management Commission (MWMC) has worked to protect both ~
the health and safety of our community and the water quality of the Willamette River. Maintaining those two objectives
has become increasingly challenging as wastewater volumes from residences and industry increase, and environmental
regulations place increased demands on our treatment practices.
i
1 ~'Y
We have responded to those challenges by the developement of our 20-year Facilities Plan. That plan is the result of '
many months of Commission, consultant and staff efforts to create a "road map" for the next twenty years. The Plan r
f
has been adopted by the Cities of Eugene and Springfield and the Lane County Board of Commissioners. It reflects our '
commitment to environmental stewardship, fiscal responsibility, public involvement and careful planning. We are in the

~ process of initiating action on that plan and will report progress in future annual reports. 1 ! 1
Fiom top left: Faye Ste'tv'art, bane, County Commissioner
Doaag Keeler, City of Sp' i~tgfie~d Ci~szen Representative
-Since it's inception, the MWMC has been assisted in developing and managing the total wastewater program by a number ~
Middle row: George Po~ittg, City of ,Eugene Council
of volunteers from the community.
