WEBER~l~O~/~%~..--
CHAIRMAN, SITE SELECTION TEAM (10PE)
SUBJECT: SITE SELECTION RECOMMENDATION
U.S. Courthouse; Eugene/Springfield, OR
The Site Selection Team has completed the process to recommend a site for the construction of
anew U.S. Courthouse in Eugene/Springfield, Oregon.
The Site Selection Team, with the active participation of the proposed primary tenants, the U.S.
District Courts, have applied technical evaluation factors to the five potential development site
alternatives. The five potential sites fall within the delineated geographical area. After the Draft
Environmental Impact Statement the site(s) consideration was reduced to two site locations for
economic evaluation.
The Site Selection Team gave consideration to the policies in 41 CFR, Part 19 and the $3.5
million budget limitation for site acquisition.
The Site Selection Team recommends Alternative 2, Option A, in Eugene, Oregon, for the
new U.S. Courthouse based upon the attached summary comparison of the five sites which
demonstrates that Alternative 2, Option A, is superior to the other sites as it pertains to
operational efficiency, security, risk and aesthetics. All factors considered, Alternative 2,
Option A, Eugene, Oregon, is considered to be the most advantageous to the government.
Approved: ~`~~..-/ 3 '7 0 > _
Wayne Fri ardson Date
Deputy ssistant Regional Administrator (10P)
Attachment
