Chapter 6 <br />Implementation <br />The implementation of this Concept Plan rest on <br />future planning and public policy decisions. The Key <br />Next Steps included below summarize the actions <br />required to begin the long term process of trans- <br />forming this area into the vibrant district envisioned <br />in the Concept Plan. <br />Key Next Steps: <br />Urban Design Concept <br />7. Review by City Council <br />Based on the recommendation of the <br />Downtown Plan Update Committee, this <br />Concept Plan will be forwarded to City Council <br />for discussion and action. <br />2. Incorporation into Downtown <br />Plan Update <br />Based on the action of City Council, this <br />Concept Plan will be folded into an update of <br />the Downtown Plan. Significant additional <br />planning work is anticipated, including the <br />development of a new zone and a Great Streets <br />overlay. <br />3. Coordination With City Staff <br />Close coordination with staff from other city <br />departments, particularly Public Works <br />Transportation, Engineering and Parks Planning <br />is required to ensure that the elements of this <br />Concept Plan are integrated into ongoing and <br />planned work programs. <br />Page 31 <br />
