Oregon Inventory of Historic Properties
Historic Resource Survey Form
Paae 2
County: Lane
Statement of Significance (Use additional sheets if necessary)
Physical Narrative Description:
This house appeazs to have had numerous changes to its original 1920s plan. Originally, it was aone-and-a-
half, wood-frame gabled-front house with a front porch that extends the entire width of the front facade.
Later construction includes the one story shed roof addition on the west elevation, the shed dormer on the
original gable and the carport. The original roof is covered with composition shingles and the additions are
covered with rolled roofing. The exterior walls are clad with clapboard and aluminum-sliding windows are
the dominant form of fenestration even though there aze a few original multi-pane windows.
Historical Significance:
R. G. and Iva Hall aze shown as the owners on record in 1920 when the house was built. He is recorded as
Inspector for the City of Eugene. He lived in Eugene according to the 1921 Lane County Directory.
Therefore, this dwelling at 105 W. D Street may have been a rental property. There are no further records for
this house. Based on the research, it does not appear that this house is associated with significant historical
events or people and it does not retain integrity of its original design. HRA recommends that 105 W. D
Street be determined not eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
References:
Lane County
n.d.
