Comments and Responses, September 26, 2000 Public Hearing in Eugene <br />T10 Kevin Matthews, Friends of <br />Eugene <br />After the issuance of the draft EIS, <br />the Gateway site alternative <br />(Alternative 3) was deemed <br />impractical and has been eliminated <br />from further consideration. <br />Alternative 3 was eliminated from <br />further consideration because it lies <br />within the 500-Year Floodplain for <br />the McKenzie River, lacks <br />adequate public transportation and <br />public parking in the vicinity. <br />T10.1-Comment acknowledged <br />T10.2-The draft EIS describes the <br />Gateway site location away from <br />the business and government <br />centers of Eugene and Springfield. <br />The draft EIS also notes the limited <br />availability of public transportation <br />to the Gateway site and discusses <br />potential traffic impacts at the site. <br />Tranaertpt 1 <br />23 <br />1 NR.
