Upgrade existing community facilities, including aquatic <br />centers, community centers, and special use facilities, to meet <br />current needs, address accessibility issues, and maximize <br />maintenance and operations efficiencies. <br />F-13. Develop a budget and schedule for system-wide renovation <br />programs for critical recreation componehts, including: <br />• Children's play areas; <br />• Skateparks; <br />^ Sport fields and courts; and <br />• General park development features, such as lights, <br />benches, picnic tables, walkways, and parking areas. <br />G. Maintenance <br />G-1. Establish data on the cost of maintenance and identify a <br />minimum per unit maintenance budget based on that data. <br />Use that figure as a guideline for budgeting and forecasting <br />operations impacts when new parks and facilities are brought <br />on-line. Maintenance unit costs should be established and <br />periodically reviewed for the following: <br />^ General park development; <br />^ Natural areas; <br />• Trails <br />^ Recreation amenities; and <br />^ Special use facilities, such as community centers and <br />aquatic facilities. <br />G-2. Develop resource management plans for existing and new <br />parks and evaluate operational impacts and feasibility prior to <br />construction. <br />G-3. Allocate an average minimum maintenance cost per acre <br />annually for maintenance. Increase maintenance funds using <br />this guideline as new parks are added to the City's system. <br />G-4. .Improve existing natural resource areas by providing resources <br />to improve habitat and eliminate invasive species. Strategies <br />could include partnerships, volunteer coordination, as well as <br />financial resources and maintenance staff time. <br />G-S.
