Summer Reading programs for all ages broke records, with <br />more than 3200 kids and teens participating - an increase of more <br />than 1000 over last year. And in its first year, Summer Reading for <br />Adults drew more than 500 participants and collected over 1200 <br />book reviews. <br />EPL's history of community ~ ~~ ~ ~~~ '~" ~ - a <br />partnerships dates back a '" ' <br />century. Supporting partners <br />include the Friends of the <br />~. <br />Library, providing fund- `" <br />raising support through its _ <br />annual book sale, magazine - <br />sales, and Second Hand Prose ~ - <br />book store at the Downtown ,., <br />Library. The Eugene Public ~ ~~ <br />Library Foundation contri- ~~ ~` <br />Reading programs for all ages <br />butes greatly with fundraising <br />activities including the annual Authors & Artists Fair and the new <br />Author! Author! lecture series. This year, the foundation <br />contributed the final installment on its commitment to raise $5 <br />million in donations from the citizens of Eugene to assist in the <br />construction of the Downtown Library.
