LRCS has embraced a powerful, nationally recognized model for working with youth to provide positive experiences and foster health, caring, and responsibility. At the heart of the model are the 40 Developmental Assets, which were pioneered by the Search Institute in the 1980s. The Institute surveyed more than two million youth across America and Canada, and found strong and consistent relationships between the number of assets in young people's lives and the degree to which they develop in positive and healthful ways.
