Claims Summary by Division <br />The number of PDD workers' compensations claims filed and total claim costs are listed below by division. <br />ADMINISTRATION: There was one claim filed by an Administration employee in FY07. r''.»t"j <br />BUILDING & PERMIT SERVICES: There were five claims filed by Building & <br />Permit Services employees in FY07. <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: There were no claims filed in FY07 by Community <br />Development employees. <br />PLANNING: There were no claims filed by Planning employees in FY07 <br />_~4~ <br />~~_= , i~9 <br />': ~~ ~' ~ <br /> <br />SAFETY & LOSS CONTROL SERVICES ~- <br />During FY07, Safety & Loss Control staff worked with Building & Permit Services ~, , ''~ <br />to provide analysis of environmental impacts for possible development sites and safety ~ , ~, ~ ~~ <br />issues for Parking Control personnel and Building Inspectors. In addition, - ~ ~ ~~ "~~° <br />environmental assessments involving Phase I audits and/or HUD noise level <br />reviews were conducted for various locations around the community. PDD staff <br />attended Strain/Sprain Awareness, Ladder Safety, Accident Investigation, Safety <br />Leadership, and Hazard ,Communication training classes provided by Safety & <br />Loss Control Services. <br />Vehicle Accidents ' <br />The FY07 City-wide' Vehicle .Mileage <br />Comparison graph (see page 15) shows that <br />PDD employees drove City-owned fleet vehicles a total of 182,559 miles in FY07 <br />or about 5.5% of the total miles driven by all City employees. The mileage was <br />up from the 172,988 driven in FY06. In FY07, there were three motor vehicle <br />accidents involving PDD employees driving City-owned fleet vehicles. All three <br />accidents were classified as at-fault. <br />OSHA Reportable Illness/Injury <br />During FY07, PDD again recorded only one injury that met the definition of an OSHA-recordable incident: This <br />continues a positive downward trend from the ten injuries reported in FY02. <br />~: <br />s~ <br />38 <br />
