Minor damage was caused when a citizen was rear-ended ''~ <br />by a Parking Control Officer. The claim was closed with a $249 settlement. <br />One new claim was filed resulting from inspection activity. There was no evidence of City negligence in either case. - ` <br />Litigation Activity <br />In FY07, litigation continued on one inverse condemnation claim <br />which has been charged to both PDD and Public Works. With a <br />recent court ruling in the City's favor, we anticipate this lawsuit will <br />be resolved in FY08. <br />Two other lawsuits resulting from an ongoing dispute over abatement <br />proceedings and foreclosure on a property on Skyline Blvd. remain <br />active. <br />WORKERS' COMPENSATION CLAIMS <br />The total number of claims filed by PDD employees in FY07 increased to six <br />claims for a total claims cost of $14,003. All of the claims filed were for sprains/ <br />strains. <br />36 <br />
