Appendix E, page 3 of 3
Points for connectivity:
No connections to collectors or arterials 0 points
Connects with two collectors, or with only 1 point
one collector if serving larger neighborhood
Connects with two minor arterials, or completes a 2 points
significant collector loop
Connects with three or more minor arterials 3 points
Connects with two or more major. arterials 4 points
In a few cases, the numerical rating is also influenced by factors such as a street serving as sole
collector access for an entire neighborhood, or providing access to a major traffic generator.
The ratings for each of the five criteria were added to get the total rating for each street segment.
The proposed classification is based on that total rating. In some instances, special
considerations have been taken into account which affect the point rating for one or more criteria.
Where this occurs a number is shown in the final column of the matrix, and that number refers
the reviewer to the appropriate note at the bottom of the matrix.
