(G) Operating Leases
The City conducts some of its operations from leased facilities located both inside and outside the central
business district. All such leases for facilities are classified as operating leases and expire within the next five
years. The total rental expense for the year ended June 30, 2008, for operating leases was $677,312. Most of
these leases for facilities contain an option whereby the City can, after the initial lease term, renew its lease for
periods of one to ten years. These options enable the City to retain use of facilities in desirable operating
areas.
