1.2 Evaluation of adequacy of the geological and geotechnical investigation and <br />design recommendations; <br />1.3 Evaluation of proposed engineering and construction methods during the <br />design phase; and <br />1.4 Confirmation of the findings by qualified City inspectors during <br />implementation of the project. <br />A report of the required level of investigation must be made and three (3) copies submitted <br />with the land use development application and/or construction permit application. <br />R-9.6710-F Level l -Investigation Methods and Report Content. <br />1. Simple Site Characteristic Investi ag tion. A Level l investigation shall consist of: <br />1.1 A compilation of record geotechnical data, on-site verification of the data and <br />site conditions, and an explanation of the methods used; <br />1.2 A report discussing site and soil characteristics in relation to the proposed <br />development; <br />1.3 A measure of slopes in the project azea and any office or field evidence of <br />swelling clay or flooding. <br />A Level l investigation does not require any digging or drilling at the project site. A Level <br />1 investigation must include an examination of existing exposures such as, but not limited to, road <br />cuts. <br />2. Investigation Methods.. <br />2.1 Literature Survey and Observations. An estimate of the soiUrock profile shall <br />be made, based on the following geological and pedological literature. and maps (required <br />sources are in bold) information, when available: <br />2.1.1 USGS 7.5' Quadrangle Topographic Map. <br />2.1.2. U5DA Soil Survey of Lane County Area, Oregon (website: <br />http://ice.or.nres.usda.gov/website/soils/oregon/or reports or.hfm). <br />2.1.3 Historical aerial photos (L7 of O MAP Library). <br />2.1.4 USGS OM-110 (Geology of the Southern and Southwestern Border <br />Areas of the Willamette Valley, Oregon, 1951). <br />2.1.5 USGS Water Resources Paper 2018 (Groundwater Resources of the . <br />Eugene/Springfield Area, 1973). <br />2.1.6 USGS 1:250,000 Geologic Map of the Salem Quadrangle. <br />2.1.7 Geologic Map of Oregon (USGS, 1991). . <br />2.1.8 Relative..
