WELDING 012 BURNING: No wcl.ding or burning will be permitted in any <br />building except in a booth, room, or area especially constructed <br />for such purpose. <br />SECTION XII <br />FUELING AND DEFUELING OF AIRCRAFT <br />to <br />2. <br /> <br />GENERAL: <br />(a) No person shall smoke on any apron or near an aircraft being <br />fueled or defueled, or within fifty feet of; any plane at any <br />time. <br />(b) Persons engaged in the fueling and defueling of aircraft shall <br />excercise care to prevent overflow of fuel. <br />(c) No person shall use any material during fueling or defueling of <br />aircraft, which is likely to cause 'a spark or be a source of <br />ignition. <br />(d) Adequate fin, extinguishers shall be within ready reach of all <br />persons engaged in fueling or defueling of aircraft. <br />(e) No fueling or defueling of aircraft shall be conducted in any <br />_hangar or other building. <br />(f) Comparable precautions, as established in this regulation, will <br />apply to defueling as well as fueling. <br />SERVICE EQU IP1v1ENT <br />(a) Storage and servicing equipment must comply with state laws and <br />regulations. <br />(b) The truck, when servicing aircraft, must be positioned so that <br />it can be readily driven away without backing up to an open area <br />in an emergency, and will not be positioned on the main exit side <br />of thct. aircraft in such a manner as to interfere with the discharge <br />of persons from the aircraft in case of an emergency. <br />(c) Fuel trucks will proceed slowly with caution on the apron. <br />(d) During the fueling operations of aircraft exceeding 12,500 pounds, <br />there will be an attendant who is fully trained and competent to <br />-13- <br />
