These policies are in APPM Chapter 4 General <br /> Employment Policies. Specific policies are: Patent/Copyrights; Conflict of Interest; Political Activity and <br /> Provision of Election Materials; Appearance and Conduct; Outside Employment; Employees and Contract <br /> work; Gifts, Sponsorships, Charitable Contributions and Memberships; Accident Prevention and Job <br /> Safety; Employee Substance Abuse Policy; Smoking Policy; Weapons Policy; Workplace Violence Policy; <br /> Random Drug and Alcohol Testing for Employees Holding a Commercial Driver's License (CDL); <br /> Independent Medical Evaluations (IME); Emergency Procedures; City Equipment/Property; Employees in <br /> Transition; Information Produced or Received in the Course of Work; Inspection of City Equipment or <br /> Facilities; Electronic Mail (E-Mail). <br /> These policies are summarized and contained in the employee handbook, which every new employee is <br /> provided at new employee orientation. As policies are modified, updates are sent out to employees and <br /> supervisors. The APPM is available on line on the City's Intranet for any employee to access and can be <br /> printed if needed. The AFSCME contract outlines policies and procedures that are within the bounds of the <br /> bargaining agreement for represented employees and is provided to all represented employees at the time of <br /> hire, and after each update. <br /> - Rules are also reviewed in the all City new employee orientation once a month and are part of the hiring <br /> manager's orientation with new employees. <br /> ©2004 American Public Works Association Version 5.0 <br /> 25 <br /> <br />
