MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> Between <br /> The Cit3~ of Eugene <br /> and <br /> I AFSCME Local 172 <br /> I <br /> i <br /> i <br /> ~ The City and the Union have agreed that there are five (5) positions that are currently occupied by <br /> j non-represented employees that should be included in the unit. This is an update to the August 6, <br /> j 1998 agreement. The employees and the current positions they hold are as follows: <br /> 1. Charlene Ellis Staff Assistant -Crime Analysis Police <br /> 2. Jan Bergquist Staff Assistant -General Liability HRRS <br /> 3. Nora McCoy Administrative Aide Administration, Police <br /> 4. Bonnie Harper Accounting Clerk Payroll, ASD <br /> ~ 5. Harry Millikin Traffic Engineering Tech II Transportation, Public Works <br /> The Union agreed to allow all of the current incumbents in these positions the option of either <br /> being in the Union or remaining unrepresented. If they elected to join the Union within sixty (60) <br /> days of the signing of the August 6, 1998 agreement, they would have been given seniority credit <br /> in accordance with Appendix B.7 of the current contract. In addition, any salary or benefits they <br /> were receiving which are greater than those defined in the Union contract would be frozen for a <br /> period of two (2) years from the date they become Union members. Because Harry Millikin was <br /> overlooked during the last agreement, he will be given the option mentioned above as of the <br /> signing of this agreement. <br /> If any of these employees, transfer, promote, or demote to another position that is represented by <br /> the Union, this agreement would no longer apply to them. ~ , <br /> When any of these positions are filled, the new employee in the position will be represented. If <br /> <br /> I ~ the City plans to delete or reclassify any of these positions, they will notify the Union prior to the <br /> implementation of the change and discuss the reasons for the change. <br /> <br /> I <br /> In the future, any incumbents in positions that change from non-represented to represented will be <br /> transitioned into the unit in accordance with the provisions of Appendix B and C in the current <br /> contract. <br /> r the City For the Union <br /> ~~u ~ ~ 2 <br /> Date <br /> Date <br /> <br />
