Supervisory approval is <br /> required for attendance. <br /> 3-228.3 Out-of-Organization Training (Revised 09/16/02) <br /> <br /> ~ Trainin of a eneral nature is rovided throu h the Coordinated Trainin <br /> g g p g g <br /> Program administered by the HRRS. <br /> General training includes such areas as supervision, communication skills, <br /> City-oriented training issues, etc. Funds are budgeted in each department for the <br /> Coordinated Training Program. <br /> Specialized training is required by many City occupations. If this training is not <br /> offered on the job or through the City's in-house programs, an effort should be <br /> made to contract for this training in the local area when the training is lengthy or a <br /> number of employees could benefit from the training and the contracted training is <br /> cost effective. In cases where this is not possible, employees may acquire skills. <br /> through out-of-organization training, conferences, and workshops. Prior approval <br /> by the executive director or his/her designee is required. <br /> Training, professional meetings, and conferences will be limited to functions from <br /> which the City will derive a benefit through the attendance of a representative and <br /> for which budgeted funds are available. Generally, personal development <br /> seminars will not be reimbursed by the City unless a specific business benefit can <br /> be demonstrated.
