Positions designated as such <br /> meet the following criteria: <br /> The assignment is open only to regular City employees who are represented by a bargaining unit or <br /> are confidential exempt. Due to FLSA regulations, exempt employees may not apply. <br /> Limited duration employees and temporary employees are not eligible to apply. <br /> The assignment is temporary; at the end of the assignment, you will return to your former position. <br /> A Career Development Plan is not required to apply for this assignment. However, a Career ' <br /> Development Plan that includes clearly stated career goals may enhance your competitiveness for a <br /> Career Development Assignment. <br /> In addition, an employee applying for a Career Development Assignment must meet the minimum <br /> requirements listed in the posting and obtain their supervisor's signature on the blue application <br /> form. <br /> General Statement of Duties <br /> Performs skilled technical duties relating to engineering surveys, computer drafting and design, and inspection <br /> of public improvement projects. Works as a team member with other technicians and engineers. This position <br /> will primarily focus on project inspection, in conjunction with a large wastewater rehabilitation project <br /> scheduled for construction Summer/Fall 2004. <br /> Examples of Duties Performed-Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: <br /> Trains to design projects in accordance with established standards and procedures. <br /> Performs hydrology and hydraulic calculations under general supervision. <br /> Learns to produce a wide variety of construction plans, topographic maps, earthwork calculations, assessment <br /> drawings, etc., using CAD systems. <br /> Trains to inspect project sites for adherence to plans and specifications, including State and Federal <br /> requirements; schedules inspections with contractors; performs quality testing of materials and construction or <br /> coordinates testing with others; issues memos to contractors for changes or corrections and verifies work <br /> accomplished; maintains records of work-site activity, materials used, and other pertinent information. <br /> Calculates and apportions project assessments; verifies past and present assessments of properties in a project <br /> area; verifies property owners, deed information, and tot dimensions; calculates charges in accordance with <br /> assessment ordinances; updates assessment spreadsheets on computer and produces assessment maps. <br /> (more) <br /> THE CITY OF EUGENE VALUES DIVERSITY IN ITS WORKFORCE, AND IS COMMITTED TO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. <br /> <br />
