. process of doing an Exempt Compensation Study for all exempt positions.
Although this position was included within the review, it was almost as an after
thought because the position was not classified until the tail end of the Study.
During the last two years we have utilized the employee within the position to
take on the'responsibility of numerous special projects, including a three month
stint as a Fleet Supervisor of the night shift shop staff.
1
i -
i
i
i
i
EMPLOYEE'S SIGNATU ~ ate /

i
STATEMENT OF SUPERVISOR
Please review the employee's statements for accuracy and provide additional
information, if necessary, to fully explain the scope of the position. Any significant
changes should be discussed between the employee and supervisor.
Position Questionnaire was primarily filled out by the Maintenance Manager
(supervisor of the position) with some review and input from the employee.
Although the position has only been approved and budgeted for about six years,
it is a key position to the department. Because the position is relatively new, the
responsibilities and duties have steadily evolved into what has been described
above. Moving the position out of the bargaining unit and into the exempt
classification was ahuge-step in the right direction. However, once that change
took place the possibilities of utilizing the position for special projects has
opened up a whole new range of work activities for which.the position needs to
be appropriately compensated. Therefore the reason for the request for
reclassification.
Position Questionnaire Form 12 HRRSlJan 99
_
