At more than 25 local schools! .Roosevelt Middle School, a Safe Routes to School Pilot School will be <br /> hosting one of the larger events from 8:00-9:00 AM which will include the Grey Matter Jugglers who will be <br /> performing some fire juggling unicycling, the University of Oregon Duck who will be pedaled around (instead of <br /> his usual paddling), and some great bike blended smoothies will be made! Roosevelt is located at 680 East 24th <br /> I, Avenue. A walking and biking group will leave from the Amazon Skate Park at 8:15 AM to walk to Roosvelt. <br /> Some other schools participating in the day include Monroe Middle, Adams Elementary, Buena Vista & <br /> Meadowlark Elementary, Cesar E. Eugene is proud to be a part of this international event that is part of a worldwide movement to <br /> encourage children to be more active. Walk and Bike to School Day is the capstone event for Safe Routes to <br /> School programs, a movement for which Eugene serves as a leader and innovator. The event is currently being <br /> coordinated at more than 150 elementary and middle schools throughout the state and Eugene area schools will <br /> make up more than 25 of those, more than 3 times the number of schools that participated in last years event! <br /> The event is organized by the Eugene SRTS Program and is supported by the City of Eugene, LTD's Smart Ways , <br /> to School, and the Oregon Walk and Bike to School Committee (managed by the Bicycle Transportation <br /> Alliance).
