The project is being lead by the City of Eugene's Stream Team program as
cart of a multiyear effort to create shade along the creek. In just a few short years these trees will help keep
-water temperatures in the creek from becoming too high, and their falling leaves will help feed smaller
.organisms. Wildlife such as otters and herons use these areas as habitat throughout the year. Volunteers will

i meet at Amazon Creek and Bailey Hill Road (next to Rexius). Tools, instruction, and refreshments will be
provided. Children are welcome.
Stream Team offers volunteers the opportunity to restore, care for, and learn more about Eugene's
waterways and .natural areas; and improve water quality and fish and wildlife habitat by collecting seed,
leading nature field trips, planting trees, salvaging and monitoring native plants, and. tending to native
plants at the native plant nursery.
1
CITY OF
EUGENE
treamTeam
Kelly Qarnell, Marketing and C~utreacFi Manager
1
_
